For the first time, Process Mining users are able to analyze and map multi-level end-to-end business processes without having to deal with biased statistics, data divergence and convergence issues.
The difference from prior art is huge. As the name suggests, this new capability finally allows users to analyze and map more complex processes involving steps, events, and entities that are linked by many-to-many relationships.
Traditional process mining techniques fail to deal with data divergence and convergence issues that characterize multi-level business processes, e.g. procure to pay (P2P) and order to cash (O2C). As a result, organizations cannot analyze complex processes such as procure to pay treating it as one process because statistics would be biased and misleading. Each P2P’s four different subprocesses – purchasing, ordering, invoicing, payment – has to be analyzed separately, thus failing to provide visibility on the actual end-to-end procure to pay process.
